Q: Do I need an appointment to buy or sell items?
A: No, an appointment is not necessary. Please visit anytime during our business hours. However, if you have a large or valuable collection of gold or silver coins or currency, then we would recommend you contact us in advance to schedule a time. We also can make special arrangements for estate executors, bank trust managers and other similar situations where there are large collections or quantities.
Q: Will you buy my coins?
A: We buy most gold or silver coins. Please check our list of what we do and do not buy for more information. That information can be found here.
Q: Do you buy error, misprint or double strike coins?
A: No, we do not buy these types of coins.
Q: What type of items do you sell?
A: We sell any type of gold or silver coins. We normally stock all common gold and silver bullion coins including: US Gold Eagles, Gold bars, Canada Maple leaf, South Africa Krugerrand, US Silver Eagles, Silver Rounds, Silver bars in 1 ounce, 10 ounce and 100 ounce denominations.
Q: What types of payments do you accept?
A: We accept nearly any type of payment. However, for cash and carry we require cash, bank wire or PIN debit card.
If you wish to pay with check, money order, or cashier’s check we will hold merchandise for 7 days until funds are available.
In some cases, we can accept credit card or bitcoin with an additional processing fee of 2% of the transaction amount. Transaction limits will apply to credit card purchases.
Q: Do you buy large estates or coin collections?
A: Large collections are our specialty as we have combined over 60 years of expertise with rare coins and currency. For large collections or estates, we recommend you call for an appointment or reservation so that we can best assist you.
Q: Do you offer quantity discounts for bulk or large purchases?
A: Yes, the prices listed on our website are for small purchases (such as 100 or less ounces of silver, or 10 or less ounces of gold). If you are interested in purchasing large amounts of gold or silver, we do offer preferred pricing. Typically, if you are buying at least 100 ounces of silver or 10 ounces of gold we can work with you on pricing. The best discounts are available for at least 25 ounces of gold or 500 ounces of silver. Contact us for more information.
Q: Do you require photo identification to purchase coins or bullion?
A: Generally, identification is not required to purchase. However, in some situations we will require you to show a valid government issued identification for the safety of your transaction such as to prove you are the personal legally entitled to the merchandise. We also may require identification, as required by law, if you are purchasing with cash. If you do not want to provide your identification, you may want to make purchases with payment other than cash.
Q: How can I get my coins graded or certified?
A: There are several services that offer grading or certification services for coins. We have used these companies in the past: PCGS Coin Grading Services and How to Submit | NGC (ngccoin.com) . These companies are independent and they do charge fees and may require membership to submit coins for grading or certification.
